Scuba Support was born in 2006 out of a passion for diving and technology. Owner Eddy van Vliet is a fanatic technical and cave diver with a passion for photography. With, among other things, an electronic and fine mechanical training and years of experience at a company that specializes in medical and laboratory equipment, it is safe to say that Eddy has a technical background.
Because existing diving equipment did not always meet his own wishes or those of the technical diving team he was part of, he started manufacturing custom equipment in the early 2000s. He produced stainless steel springstraps, electric drysuit heating, special HID lamps, scooters, P-valves and flash arm systems for cameras.
These products and services turned out to be very popular outside of his own team and that resulted in the setting up of his own company: Scuba Support.
Eddy is a certified service technician for Mares, Scubapro, Halcyon, Apeks, Ocean Reef, Tecline, Scubatek, Cressi, Tusa and Subgear. As a NAUI instructor, specializing in the Gasblender and Equipment Service training courses, Eddy can also provide practical instruction.
Eddy is regularly consulted by dive centers when it comes to maintenance of equipment, filling installations and gas mixing systems. He also regularly publishes articles and material tests on DuikenInBeeld.tv and in the monthly magazine DUIKEN.
Store
Recreational and technical divers can go to Scuba Support for their complete equipment; from buoyancy compensators and fins to diving tanks and dive computers. We are a dealer of Halcyon, Apeks, Mares and Tecline. See Our Brands for the complete overview. Service kits and spare parts are in stock for almost all common brands.
Filling station
The filling station consists of three high-pressure compressors and a buffer system up to 300 bar, for both compressed air and Nitrox 32. For divers with the necessary certifications, gas mixtures can be made as desired, both nitrox and trimix. For rebreathers, the bottles can be topped up to any desired pressure using a gas booster.
Workshop
Good tools are half the battle! Scuba Support therefore has an extensive professional workshop with ultrasonic cleaning systems for thorough cleaning and oxygen cleaning of diving and filling equipment, vacuum test equipment, a light intensity meter, battery burntesters, a gas analysis system, a computer-controlled battery and battery analysis system. and a 2000 liter water basin for testing dry suits and scooters. This also makes it possible to carry out repairs directly yourself, unlike regular dealers who have to send in materials for repair. These activities include automatic machine service, dry suits and diving tank service.
Because the cleaning and oxygen cleaning of diving equipment is highly specialized work, more and more dealers and diving centers are also outsourcing this work to Scuba Support.
In addition, the workshop has more specialist equipment such as a milling machine, a lathe, a crosscut saw, a battery spot welding system and a computer-controlled laser engraving and cutting machine to provide diving material with texts and logos, for example. this makes it possible to carry out both the development and manufacture of custom diving equipment entirely in-house.
... And of course there is also a very good coffee maker, so come and visit us for a cup of coffee! ;-)
